Cat Litter comparison | Tofu litter | Flushable recommended

River Song 2021. 9. 16. 00:22

Hi there,

I've been using various litter products for my cats, and I'd like to share my experience of using them.

When I buy the litter, I check a few things. Dust, Clumping, Price, and most importantly is it Flushable?  Let me discuss in details down below.

1. Tidy Cats (30lbs - $30)

In my opinion, this is the default litter.  I believe this is the cheapest product that I've ever used.  You can find it from any grocery/ drug store. I sometimes saw it from the convenience store like 7/11.

It serves its purpose, and its texture is very dirt-like. It doesn't clump well, but if you're looking for the cheapest and the most basic-like litter, this is your product.

2. Petnf - Tofu Cat litter (10lbs - $30)

My all-time-favorite. Once I used flushable litter, I can never go back to non-flushable ones cause it's SUPER CONVENIENT. Flushable litter will change your life. No dust, no(or rather subtle) smell, very good clumping, FLUSHALBE in the toilet... This is my perfect litter.

The only downside is the price. 10lbs bag is about $30. It's not super expensive, but it's not super cheap either. So I tried a couple of different flushable products, but I always come back to this one, because this is THE ONE.

3. Garfield  (10lbs - $20)

This is one of the OTHER products that I tried to replace with the tofu one. This is also a very decent product, ended up my 2nd favorite. This is a little cheaper than #3, but it serves what I want.

No dust, No smell, Flushable, reasonable price and etc.

The only downside is though, this takes a bit longer time to dissolve in water. I need to wait for a little before I can flush.

4. Wee Kitty (20lbs - $35)

This is the product that taught me that 'No Dust' is super important. The product was too dusty, I couldn't use it from the indoor bathroom. OMG

It's flushable and it dissolves in the water quickly and all, but seriously.. it produces dust SO MUCH!

But the thing is -- the product description clearly states that it's dust-free. I have no idea what happened. This is the dustiest product I've ever used.  I felt really bad that we couldn't get along.

If they've got rid of the dusty part, this would be my favorite (including price)

5. Kitten Attract (20lbs - $22)

The reviews say it's especially good for kittens who need potty-training. Luckily, my cats never had a hard time potty-trained, so it wasn't a must-have item for me.  The texture is unbelievably soft - I'm talking about flour-level soft here. Some people say that the soften litter is good for cats' paws :)

Very decent product - No dust, no smell, good clumping, but no flushable.

6. I AM TOFU (18lbs - $46)

I love how 'I AM TOFU' dissolves in water and their packaging is impressive - vaccum sealed!

Everything decent, I love the price and I get to choose from 3 options - original / green tea /  charcoal.

I wanted to order the original, but somehow the order went through with the green tea.

The only downside is -- its smell. It doesn't have a bad smell but it's rather a scent, but a very strong scent. Our bathroom is covered by its smell right now. You can say it's a scent of green tea, but I gotta say, even if it's a flourish smell, you don't want it to be too strong in your bathroom for few weeks.

I'm intrigued to buy the original version for my next purchase :)
